I had the privilege of training with Master Instructor Mark Green in his Jute system for a period of three years prior to moving abroad. I had previously trained extensively in various martial arts with some of Australia's leading teachers and am a yoga teacher with 12 years experience.
I can honestly say without hesitation that Jute is by far the most potent method I have seen of harnessing, directing and expressing internal power. Jute is at once a subtle and sophisticated art form and a devastating and potentially brutal martial art. To be in the presence of such power is both humbling and unnerving. To have the ability to generate such power affords a deep sense of self confidence and self mastery.
Beyond the martial aspects, Jute gives one a sense of vitality, vigour and a deep sense of connection consistent with a highly evolved internal practice. I am grateful that this knowledge has fallen into the hands of Master Green, a teacher with such passion and integrity.

As a child in the 1980s, Kerwin Rae was inspired by the film The Karate Kid. "The moment I saw it, I wanted to do martial arts," he says. For several years he practised tae kwon do and later taught at a martial arts school he opened in Brisbane. Rae now works for a firm of business development consultants in Sydney. Recently, he has taken up jute kung fu, a technique he describes as "formless".
"I've never seen a display of power like it," he says. "Most fighting styles are rigid. With this style, you are trying to let go to allow the body to follow its own path." As Rae explains, Jute involves "removing blockages" and "tapping into energy" to generate power. "It's about acquiring an intelligence you express in different forms." Those holding onto "emotional issues", he says, experience problems with the technique. "It's an expression of what is going on in your head. The more you let go, the more you stop trying to concentrate."
Unlike some forms of martial arts, Jute does not use coloured belts to represent grades. "Progress is measured by levels of understanding," Rae says. After each session, he says, he feels "electric - my relationship with myself has improved. I have a greater awareness of the flow in my body."

As a one time Australian Soccer Federation Senior Coach and presently a Latin American Dancer and Weight Training devotee, I commend the work of Mark Green in developing his Jute training system. I would direct attention to the Jute system as being worthy of the notice of all sportsmen, athletes, martial artists, dancers and indeed all persons participating in any form of activity.
The adage, "No pain, no gain", has no place in this system. Far from being in any way painful or exhausting, I find the Jute training system highly relaxing and energy giving. The outcomes of Jute training for me have been increased range and fluidity of body movement, availability of powerful energy bursts "at the flick of a switch". Jute Sport training is personally conducted by Mark Green, who is devoted to his art and therefore inspirational in the manner of his teaching.

From the minute I saw the ad which led me to your website then to our conversation on the phone, I thought this was too good to be true. When I witnessed your display of fluid power and speed of movement on our intro lesson, I was literally blown away. Being a dance instructor I have witnessed some amazing fluidity, but your display was in a league of its own.
Now four months into my own training I have already achieved some amazing results, both physically and mentally. I feel much more physically stronger and harder while at the same time looser and flexible. I have lost weight and am regaining my youthful fitness levels. I feel much calmer inside, my thinking is more positive and my day to day confidence keeps improving. Basically life just seems better. I had no idea I had so much potential within myself. I am amazed by the power generating from my body, especially my elbows. By witnessing the display of some of your senior students I am looking forward to continuing the journey. Thanks.

Like everyone who sets out on this path with you, I was blown away by your demonstration of power as well as the obvious depth of intelligence inherent in the system. As I have mentioned before, I spent a lot of my earlier life exploring various sports at quite high levels, such as rugby, kyoku-shin-kai karate and shi-ryu-khan kung-fu and really, the LAST thing on my mind was a return to any of that.
My problem was simply a need for some fitness while simultaneously escaping the boredom and suffocating repetition of the gym. The simple fact is that training is stimulating (both mentally and physically) and ENJOYABLE. As you know, my gym routine had been driving me crazy with boredom and now I look forward to training. You keep the system a few steps ahead of me all the time and that perpetuates the challenge and the interest.
It's as you say - "just do the training and it comes together automatically - the power, the mobility....everything". It's amazing.

Thanks Mark for an amazing intro to steel body conditioning yesterday. I feel as though I gained immensely from my first session, in that I experienced some real chi power through contact with you. Firstly, I had almost forgotten the level of power that comes from your body and can only describe it as being hit by a rubber train.
Yesterday I felt as I did on my very first day, when I asked you if you could give me an example of the internal energy that you were verbally describing to me... I was eighteen and with hard hits from football fresh in my mind I prepared myself for what I thought would be a similar hit... I had NEVER felt anything like that first time you "tapped" me... I wanted in.
The feeling gained from this type of power is not skin deep but rather like being struck straight to the core so that for a split second it really is a shocking wave throughout your body. The term you use "cotton-steel" was displayed in an instant, with a relaxed movement followed by the sledge-hammer contact. It honestly surprised me and was very humbling to feel that power enter my body... I can't wait for more.
